Bio

Megan graduated with a B.A. in English and Creative Writing from University of Iowa, and an MFA in Creative Writing, Editing, and Publishing from Sam Houston State University. Her passion for writing began at a young age with a love for books and the way literature connects people together. As her love for writing developed, so did her strengths, which led her down the path to pursuing higher education.

During her Masters program, she first dived into writing for press through her graduate assistantship at Texas Review Press, University Press at SHSU. From that experience, it opened the door to new mediums of writing, editing, and publishing that she found to be just as gratifying and fulfilling as her creative pursuits. For the last five years, she's worked in a variety of Marketing and Communication roles that involve writing, editing, digital marketing, and publishing for community colleges and nonprofits.

She is a proud queer, multiracial writer who uses her writing as a vessel in which to connect people through creativity and knowledge. When she isn't writing or reading, she can be found at home with her cat enjoying a podcast and a cup of tea.
