Xianjun Geng

Xianjun Geng is the Dean and Hugh Roy and Lillie Cranz Cullen Distinguished University Chair of the C. T. Bauer College of Business. In this role, he is the senior academic and administrative officer of the college, responsible for setting strategic, operational and financial directions as well as developing an effective collegial environment and plan that supports excellence in teaching, research, service and community engagement.
Prior to joining Bauer College, Geng was the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Programs for the Freeman School of Business at Tulane University. There, he also served as the Freeman School Distinguished Chair in Business, Area Coordinator for Management Science and as the founding Executive Director of the Master of Business Analytics program.
He has teaching experience in business analytics and information technology management at undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels, earning multiple student-voted teaching awards. He began his teaching career at the University of Washington and also served on the faculty of the University of Texas at Dallas.
Geng served as Senior Editor for Production and Operations Management. He previously was Associate Editor for Management Science, Information Systems Research and MIS Quarterly. His research has been published in top academic journals, including Management Science, Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, Journal of Management Information Systems, Production and Operations Management, Journal of Marketing, Marketing Science, Journal of Retailing and others.
Geng earned his Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from the University of Texas and his M.E. in Pattern Recognition & Intelligent Systems, B.E. in Automatic Control and B.Econ. in Enterprises Management from Tsinguhua University.
