Bio

Daniel Zyung is Associate Professor of Management and Leadership in the C. T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. Before joining the University of Houston, he was Assistant Professor of Strategy at Southern Methodist University. He received his Ph.D. from Rice University in 2017. His research centers on three related areas: (i) corporate leaders and their influences on organizational outcomes, (ii) corporate governance, and (iii) the decision making of non-executive stakeholders. While he primarily studies how corporate leaders' behavior, perceptions, and responses to external stimuli are guided by their experiences, cognitive styles, motives, and ideologies, his work has also examined the behaviors of key stakeholders, such as employees and consumers, driven by the belief that the insights gained therein can eventually enrich our understanding of corporate leadership. Daniel's research has been published in premier journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of Management, Journal of Marketing Research, Organization Studies, and Strategic Organization. He serves on the editorial boards of Organization Science and Journal of Management.
