Bio

Jim Adams has been in the commercial real estate and mortgage banking industry in Houston for over 30 years, where he has closed over $4 billion in capital market transactions across the U.S. He has numerous banking, life company, agency, and other lending relations built over his career. He most recently served as Houston market leader for Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, where he was a broker of record, directed the office's brokerage production, P & L responsibility, and operations, including oversight of appropriate staff levels as well as recruiting professionals. Established Grubb & Ellis' Texas debt-equity practice and supported the development of its Houston-based national self-storage group. Prior, Jim was Senior Vice President and Branch Manager of Capmark Finance, Inc. (successor to GMAC Commercial Mortgage) in Houston, where he opened and staffed the office. Previously, he was a Senior Vice President at Q10/Kinghorn, Driver, Hough & Co. and First Vice President of L.J. Melody & Company/CB Richard Ellis. Adams' professional affiliations include: member and board member of the Houston chapter of NAIOP, International Council of Shopping Centers, and is a licensed real estate broker in Texas. Jim Adams is a third generation Houstonian, real estate professional and banker. He is a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration, ad Master of Business Administration, and a Master of Science in Real Estate and Regional Science in 1978, 1980 and 1981 respectively. Adams received his elementary and middle school education at St. John's School in Houston, and graduated high school for The Forman School in Litchfield, Connecticutwhere he was a member of the board of trustees from 1994 to 2002 and served as its Chairman and President from 1998 to 2002. Adams is a member of River Oaks Country Club, Bayou City Breakfast Club, and past President and Director of River Oaks Property Owners, Inc.
