Kaye Newberry

Bio

Professor Kaye Newberry, C. T. Bauer Professor of Accounting, joins Bauer from the University of Arizona where she was an Associate Professor and Steinberg Fellow of Accounting. Professor Newberry's research examines the effects of taxation on business decisions, including firms' financing policies, worldwide reporting, corporate acquisitions, and financial disclosures. She is the recipient of an Outstanding Tax Doctoral Dissertation award, competitive research grants from PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young, and several teaching awards. Her research has been published in journals such as the Journal of Accounting Research, Contemporary Accounting Research, Journal of the American Taxation Association, National Tax Journal, and Journal of Accounting and Public Policy. She serves on the editorial boards of the Accounting Review and the Journal of the American Taxation Association. Since 1999, she has served as an academic adviser to the Treasury Department - IRS on international tax issues, corporate book-tax reporting, and Sarbanes-Oxley.
