Bio
Professor Dorothy L. Jiang is an Assistant Professor in the Decision & Information Sciences Department at the C. T. Bauer College of Business and the Co-Director of the Human-Centered AI Institute at the University of Houston. Her research focuses on human–AI interaction, digital platform design and strategy, and healthcare IT. She employs a diverse set of empirical and experimental methods—including econometrics, lab experiments, and modern AI/ML techniques such as deep learning—to examine how technology shapes decision-making and organizational outcomes.
Professor Jiang has published in leading academic journals such as MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research (ISR), and the Journal of Operations Management (JOM). She is the recipient of the 2025 INFORMS Information Systems Society (ISS) Gordon B. Davis Young Scholar Award and received both the Bauer College Excellence in Research Award and the Excellence in MIS Research Award in 2024.
She serves on the Editorial Review Board of Information Systems Research (ISR). She previously served as an Associate Editor for the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) and currently serves as a Co-Chair of the Symposium on Statistical Challenges in eCommerce Research (SCECR). She holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Lally School of Business, an M.S. in Management Information Systems from Clemson University, and an M.S. in Computer Science from Peking University.
