Barbara Carlin

Bio

Barbara Carlin is an associate instructional professor in the Management & Leadership Department. She received her Ph.D. in Management from the University of Texas at Austin. She also holds an M.S. in Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Carlin has been with the C.T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston since 2002. In that time, she has won the R. Wayne and Kathryn E. Payne Faculty Excellence Award for Teaching twice and the University of Houston Teaching Excellence Award twice. She teaches at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Dr. Carlin has published in Business Horizons, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, the Journal of Business Inquiry and Amplify. She is a member of the Academy of Management and the Strategic Management Society. Dr. Carlin previously was a consulted with Baker & Company and J.D. Power and Associates. She continues to consult occasionally with clients such as Core Lab and the University of Texas Medical Branch.
