Bank on Houston
Goals of Bank on Houston:
- Increase the supply of starter account product for the low- income unbanked market.
- Raise awareness amongst un-banked consumers about the benefits of account ownership and spur them to open accounts.
- Make quality money management education more easily available to low-income Houstonians.
- Raise awareness of the un-banked problem and potential solutions

Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC)
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is an independent agency created by the Congress to maintain stability and public confidence in the nation's financial system by insuring deposits, examining and supervising financial institutions for safety and soundness and consumer protection, and managing receiverships. The FDIC is a recognized leader in promoting sound public policies, addressing risks in the nation's financial system, and carrying out its insurance, supervisory, consumer protection, and receivership management responsibilities.

As one of twelve regional Reserve Banks in the Federal Reserve System, the Dallas Fed serves the Eleventh Federal Reserve District, which consists of Texas, northern Louisiana and southern New Mexico.
We've developed the Building Wealth website as resource for schools, nonprofit community organizations, financial services providers and consumers to help young people, adult consumers, families and others develop a plan for building personal wealth.
