Assured admissions requirements

Please note that the application process is completed by the UH Admissions Department to determine if applicants are admissible under UH Admissions requirements as well as C. T. Bauer College of Business' Admissions requirements which are higher than UH general requirements.

Applicants must meet the following criteria effective for Spring/Summer/Fall 2018 Applicants

*Individual college review is required for international FTIC applicants and international transfer applicants with fewer than 30 semester hours of college credit applying for admission as Pre-business majors if a TOEFL score and high school grades are used as the basis for admission rather than SAT or ACT score and rank in class.

We are dedicated to all students so if you do not meet our assured admissions requirements listed above, but meet UH general admissions requirements we offer The Bauer Pathway Program to allow students to still pursue their desired major. Students who meet these requirements may change their major to Pre-business at the end of their first semester.


Application Process to UH and C. T. Bauer College of Business

Applying to the University of Houston and C. T. Bauer College of Business is a one step process online! All applications reviewed and the decisions are determined by the universities Admissions Department.

  • Apply online using the ApplyTexas Application.
    • You will be asked to select a preferred major – select “Business” or “Pre-business”.
  • Submit your $75 application fee for domestic students ($90 for international).
    • After applying, you can pay by credit card by logging in to your myUH self-service account and clicking on Student Admission, then "Application Fee Payment." You will need your myUH ID, which is assigned when your application is submitted.
    • If you are paying by check or money order please make these payable to: University of Houston and send to our admissions department.
  • Submit your official high school transcript which includes your class rank if applicable.
    • Transcripts should be sent to UH electronically (the preferable method) 
    • If you are unable to submit transcripts electronically please make sure your transcript is in a sealed envelope from your institution to UH Admission.

      *** Priority DEADLINE for UH Scholarships is November 15th; please make sure you have completed all steps by this date in order to be eligible for UH Scholarships. ***

  • Submit your test scores.
    • Official SAT or ACT scores should be sent directly to UH from the testing agency.
    • SAT and ACT policy allows students to send test scores to several colleges.
    • Scores can also be sent through The College Board (code 6870) or ACT (code 4236).  Please note that your official test scores must have been taken within the last five years.

If you'd like to apply to The Honors College, please select the appropriate checkbox on the ApplyTexas application and submit the supplementary materials.


International Application Options

If you are an international student and have never been enrolled in post-secondary study and have completed the equivalent of 12 years of more of elementary and secondary schooling based on your country’s educational system, you should apply as an International Freshman student.
