Risk Management Course Descriptions
Risk Management & Insurance Track (21hrs):
Students enrolled in the RMI Track in Finance must meet the regular BBA requirements for finance majors. The RMI Track does not require any more classes than the standard track in finance, but requires that students take specific major courses and choose electives from an approved list.
Completion of:
- FINA 4320: Investment Management
- FINA 4330: Corporate Finance
- FINA 4354: Risk Management
- FINA 4357: Commercial Liability Insurance & Risk Management
Select nine semester hours (3 classes) from the following options:
- FINA 4329: Life Insurance and Annuities
- FINA 4355: International Risk Management
- FINA 4356: Insurance Operations
- FINA 4358: Commercial Property
- FINA 4359: Energy Insurance and Risk Management
- FINA 4397: Risk Treatment
- FINA 4397: Enterprise Risk Management
- FINA 4397: Risk Management Techniques
- or other approved risk-related finance courses (see advisor)
Risk Management & Insurance Minor (15hrs):
Completion of:
- FINA 3332: Principles of Financial Management
- FINA 4354: Risk Management
- FINA 4357: Commercial Liability Insurance & Risk Management
Select six semester hours (2 classes) from the following options:
- FINA 4329: Life Insurance and Annuities
- FINA 4355: International Risk Management
- FINA 4356: Insurance Operations
- FINA 4358: Commercial Property
- FINA 4359: Energy Insurance and Risk Management
- FINA 4397: Risk Treatment
