BuildEquity Student Consulting Program

Gain Real-World Consulting Experience While Supporting Houston Entrepreneurs

The BuildEquity Student Consulting Program connects University of Houston students with local entrepreneurs to solve real business challenges and support the growth of underrepresented small businesses throughout the Houston region. Developed through a partnership between BuildEquity Entrepreneurship Program, Impact Hub Houston and the University of Houston Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship/RED Labs, the program provides students with hands-on consulting experience while creating meaningful impact for participating businesses.

Over the course of four weeks, student teams work directly with entrepreneurs to evaluate business opportunities, conduct research, develop recommendations and present customized strategic solutions to local entrepreneurs. Participants gain valuable experience in client management, problem solving, teamwork and professional communication while expanding their understanding of entrepreneurship and small business growth.

Students who successfully complete all program requirements, including program sessions and project deliverables, will receive a $100 gift card in recognition of their time and contributions.
