Several faculty members at the C. T. Bauer College of Business hold the distinction of publishing research papers that are among the most cited in the world, according to the open access academic journal, PLoS Biology.

In a 2020 update, eight professors affiliated with the Bauer College are included in a compilation of the most cited in the world. The article identified paper authors that were either among the top 100,000 overall in a composite index they developed, or, among the top 2 percent of their main subfield discipline.
