Graduate Convocation Ceremony

Friday, December 18, 2015
7 p.m.
Hofheinz Pavilion
Deadline to file: October 2, 2015 ($25 fee) | October 30, 2015 ($50 late fee)

Convocation is the graduation ceremony where students will be individually recognized for their academic achievement. The UH Bauer College of Business has two convocation ceremonies for graduating bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral students:

  • one at the end of the fall semester
  • one at the end of the spring semester

Students graduating in the summer may participate in the spring ceremony prior to their actual graduation, or the fall ceremony following their summer completion. The convocation ceremony will last approximately two and a half hours.

Whether or not a student participates in the convocation ceremony, actual graduation is contingent upon successful completion of all graduate coursework and other degree requirements by the end of the semester for which the student has filed.

University Commencement is the formal university-wide celebration at which President Renu Khator officially confers degrees upon graduating students. The ceremony features a processional of graduates and faculty, remarks from the President, and a vibrant keynote speaker.

This ceremony is held once a year at the end of the spring semester. You may visit the University of Houston Commencement website for more details.
