“Bring Your Whole Self to Work” Focuses on Topics for Female Leaders

Next week’s Women in Leadership Conference presented by Bauer College Executive Education aims to empower female leaders with training on important business topics, led by college faculty.
An upcoming professional conference at the C. T. Bauer College of Business is designed to empower female leaders to advance professionally and personally with training in negotiation, managing conflict, promoting well-being in the workplace and other topics.
Bauer College’s 2017 Women in Leadership Conference, titled “Bring Your Whole Self to Work,” is presented by the college’s Executive Development programs and will be held Aug. 10-12.
The three-day workshop features faculty who will share research-based insights and professional experiences to help uplift and support women leaders as they position themselves for career advancement.
The conference theme references a Sheryl Sandberg quote from the best-selling book, “Lean In,” and each session is designed to help women identify their own unique leadership style and develop a personal brand grounded in a deep understanding of the differentiated value they bring to their organization. In a positive, nurturing environment, they will practice negotiating skills, learn to manage power and use influence.
“The goal of this leadership workshop is to present women leaders with a tasting menu of a set of important leadership topics,” said Vanessa Patrick, a professor of marketing and director of Doctoral Programs at Bauer, who is one of the principal speakers. “Follow-up workshops may be designed for small groups or on a one-on-one basis to hone in on the areas of leadership development depending on participant needs.”
Other speakers include: Bauer College Assistant Dean for Career Services Jamie Belinne, Associate Professor of Management Dusya Vera, Associate Professor of Decision & Information Sciences Liz Fletcher, and Professor of Hotel & Restaurant Management JeAnna Abbott.
