On April 12, the Stanford Alexander Center in Real Estate at the C. T. Bauer College of Business held its 10th annual Real Estate Symposium, bringing together leaders of the real estate industry and academia to discuss the future of the industry.

The symposium included a fireside chat with former Weingarten CEO Drew Alexander, moderated by Camden CFO Alex Jessett, covering topics including the impact of inflation and interest rates on the real estate market, adjusting to labor demand for hybrid work and the importance of industry-university partnerships.

“In order to see growth and diverse workforce, members of the real estate industry cannot just attend career fairs and expect to see results,” Stanford Alexander Center for Real Estate Executive Director Keith Richards said. “They must take the next step to actively engage with students directly through centers and programs to facilitate internships and create a pipeline of talent to the industry.”

The Bauer College program serves more than 150 annually as t he nationally prominent program continues to enjoy strong industry support, and its graduates are now finding career placement in other markets beyond the Houston region.
