Bauer Post-Doctoral Fellow Accepts Tenure-Track Position at Tulane University

A post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Decision & Information Sciences (DISC) at the C. T. Bauer College of Business, advised by Associate Professor Nina Huang and Professor Kevin Hong, has accepted a tenure-track position with Tulane University’s Freeman School of Business.

Yumei (Joy) He will serve as an Assistant Professor at Tulane beginning in Fall 2022. “I am truly honored to join in the Freeman School of Business of Tulane University in the next Summer,” she said. “I am so grateful that my postdoctoral experiences have prepared me for this new chapter of my career. I want to express my sincere gratitude toward my supervisors, Professor Nina Huang and Professor Kevin Hong, the Bauer College and HPE Data Science Institute, my former supervisors, Professor Guoqing Chen and Professor De Liu, the Management Science group of the Freeman School of Business, and many others.”

Yumei He earned her doctorate at the School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University. Prior to joining Bauer College and HPE Data Science Institute as a postdoctoral fellow, she was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. Her research interests lie in changing user behavior by information technology design. Some of her research topics include Digital Platforms, Dating Economics, Human-AI Collaboration, and Recommendation System. A paper, entitled, "Designing Demand Information Disclosure in the Presence of Capacity Constraints: A Large-Scale Randomized Field Experiment on a Matching Platform," was nominated for an Informs eBusiness cluster Best Paper Award in 2020.

“This placement is a strong testament of the reputation of the DISC department, the Bauer College, and our faculty,” said Yili (Kevin) Hong, C. T. Bauer Professor of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Society and Professor of Information Systems and Business Analytics at Bauer College. Hong is also Director of Bauer College Ph.D. Programs.
