Accountancy (STEM)

Prerequisites

The MSACCY program is primarily designed for students with an undergraduate accounting degree from an accredited university. Therefore, students with such a background generally have all required prerequisites met through their previous degree. The MSACCY required prerequisites (seen below with Bauer course numbers) should be completed at a college-level with content and learning outcomes equivalent to those listed below.

If you are needing to complete some or all of the required prerequisites, please see more information about our Certificate in Accountancy Program (CAP).

*please note: If an applicant has not previously completed these courses, a course that combines the two is offered through the Certificate in Accountancy Program (CAP). This course, ACCT 5301 Financial & Managerial Accounting, can be taken in lieu of needing to complete both individual classes.

In order to have these courses waived, courses must be completed at an AACSB Accredited University as part of a BBA or MBA within five years of entering the program with a minimum grade of ‘C-‘ or higher. For AACSB International Accredited Universities, course equivalency will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

If necessary, business foundation courses can be completed as part of a modified MSACCY degree plan where additional credits would be required.
