AREAS OF EXPERTISE:
Professor Scott Whisenant has recently joined the faculty of the Bauer
School of Business at the University of Houston. Prior to this fall, Professor
Whisenant served on the faculty of the McDonough School of Business at
Georgetown University where he taught graduate level (M.B.A. program) courses
in financial statement analysis, valuation, advanced accounting, and auditing.
He is also a member of Alpha Sigma Nu honor society.
His research focuses on the information content and value-relevance of
financial disclosures to investors in the capital markets. He is the author of
articles in:

Professor Whisenant has been interviewed by and quoted in The New York

Chronicle, The Houston Chronicle, KHOU (CBS) TV, KRIV
(Fox) TV, The National Post, The Public Accounting Report,
Bloomberg Newsand Toronto Globe and Mail on topics related to his
teaching and research interests.
