The C. T. Bauer Foundation has contributed over $1.5 million for the 2018-2019 academic year to benefit Bauer College students in the Ted Bauer Undergraduate Business Scholarship Program.

The funding brings the total to over $5.8 million that the C.T. Bauer Foundation has gifted the college to support this scholarship initiative, which awards individual scholarships for two years of tuition to undergraduate business students who maintain a 3.0 GPA, are full-time and demonstrate financial need.

Fall 2018 marks the scholarship’s fourth year, enabling students to attend school full-time and graduate within two years. Scholars are encouraged to be involved in leadership and student organization activities through volunteer activities or through leadership in a work environment.

“This support has helped Bauer College support student success and timely graduation,” Undergraduate Business Programs Associate Dean Frank Kelley said. “One of the primary reasons students stay in school longer is because they are working to pay for tuition. This gift is one of the factors allowing Bauer College to improve one of its critical measures of success, helping to move the college’s six-year graduation rate from 68.7% for the 2007 entering freshman cohort to 86.4% for the 2011 cohort, 25% higher than the national average.”

The additional funding for the 2018-2019 academic year will allow for an additional 55 students to receive $14,000 a year for two years. Since the program launched, 161 Bauer students have been awarded the scholarship.

“I owe a huge thank you to the Ted Bauer Undergraduate Business Scholarship for believing and investing in me,” Elias Garcia (BBA ’17) said. “I am planning on taking advantage of every opportunity that comes my way.”
