Bauer College Renames Department of Management to Include Leadership

Bauer College has renamed the Department of Management to the Department of Management & Leadership, a more apt description of both the strength of its leadership expertise and increasing interest in that sector of the management field.
Department Chair and Professor Steve Werner notes that Bauer faculty are deeply involved at The Leadership Quarterly, a leading academic journal in the field. Professor Leanne Atwater was senior editor from 2010 to 2016 and has written several books on leadership. Professor Dusya Vera, who studies leader character and strategic leadership, is currently a senior associate editor at The Leadership Quarterly and several Management & Leadership faculty members serve on the editorial board.
Additionally, the department plans to offer a new masters degree program in Management & Leadership in fall of 2019, pending final approval, Werner says. The Ted Bauer Leadership Certificate Program is one of several leadership initiatives Bauer has added in recent years.
