Minor in Business

Requirements

1. A 2.0 overall GPA at UH is required to take any advanced level business course.
2. Prebusiness majors may not take more than five 3000-level business courses or take any 4000-level business courses. 
3. Non-business majors may not take 3000-4000 level business courses except for INTB 3351, 3352, and 3353; and ENTR 3310 and 3312 unless they have officially declared a minor in business or are in a specialty program, and are taking courses specifically required for that minor or specialty program. 
4. Students need a 2.75 on the last 60 hours, including courses from other schools, be classified as a junior (at lease 45 credit hours), and not be on probation or suspension for the following minors:
   • Accounting
   • Business Administration (for non-majors only)
   • Finance
   • Global Energy Management
   • Management
   • Management Information Systems
   • Marketing
   • Risk Management & Insurance
   • Sales           
        
5. Students need a UH GPA of 2.0 or better, junior status, and at least 12 hours at UH to declare the following minors:
• Global Business Minor (non-majors only)
• International Area Studies (5 areas to choose, non-majors only)
6. Must meet prerequisites in order to take business courses and file for the minor. 
7. In order to graduate with a business minor, you must have a cumulative 2.0 GPA in all attempted required minor business courses taken at UH & 6 advanced (3000-4000) hours must be in residence at UH.

Business Minors for All Majors

**Minors available in the following areas are for Non-Business majors & Business majors and all require a 2.75 GPA on the last 60 hours except for International Area Studies, a 2.0 is required.

Filing A Business Minor

Prebusiness majors must meet filing degree requirements  in order to file minor and must file minor with major using the major degree plan form.

Declared Business majors can file minor by re-filing major degree plan & specifying minor.  If student is currently on a previous degree plan, re-filing degree plan will not change student's degree plan up to the 2005 degree plan unless specified.

Non-business majors can file minor by using the form below during filing periods.
