WCE Programs
In addition to the WCE major in Entrepreneurship, WCE offers a certificate program in Intrapreneurship/Corporate Entrepreneurship. This certificate can be earned by any University of Houston student that is interested in learning about the cross-functionality of departments within an organization.
Our current student body earning a certificate represents 60% of the graduating class of the C.T. Bauer College of business. The University of Houston has adopted this certificate program as the foundation for the College’s Global Business Minor for non-business students. As a result, more than 300 non-business students take these courses each year and have an opportunity to discover how and why entrepreneurial thinking can be applied to their pursuits in the arts, social sciences, science or engineering.
From its inception, WCE has followed the concept of team teaching, guest lectures, and intensive mentor programs to combine academic rigor with a real world perspective of experienced entrepreneurs. WCE’s B.B.A. program is a six course curriculum beginning with an overview of Entrepreneurship (ENTR 3310). This course covers the broad aspect of starting and owning a business and is open to any student who has completed at least 60 credit hours at the University of Houston.
From the initial mass sections, hundreds of students are then offered the opportunity to further their education in Entrepreneurship. These students go through an intensive application process to qualify as one of only thirty-five students selected to major in Entrepreneurship each year.
