Bauer Virtual Gift Celebration

You're Invited!

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Mr. Bauer’s $40 million transformational gift. We are celebrating this landmark with a week-long virtual celebration on Bauer’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn accounts, to highlight the impact of the gift.

The event will take place July 27 through Aug. 2, 2020.

As we recognize Mr. Bauer, we also thank all our donors and partners who share Mr. Bauer's vision and commitment to the Bauer College mission.

See "A Lasting Legacy," an article and timeline that traces how the C. T. Bauer College of Business has invested the historic gift into increasing the advantage of a UH business degree.

In 2019, we honored what would be Charles T. "Ted" Bauer's 100th birthday.

Mr. Bauer's transformational $40 million gift in 2000 not only named our college — it energized our community and has led Bauer College to new heights.

Mr. Bauer made an investment in the University of Houston's business school because he saw the value it provided the city and the potential value it could provide the world. As we recognize him, we also thank all our donors and partners who share Mr. Bauer's vision and commitment to the Bauer College mission.

In Their Own Words: Ted Bauer's Legacy

Leadership

Ted Bauer On Leadership

"If you are bold and eschew the mundane, you can become leaders. So far as I know, we only come this way one time. Give yourself a chance. Meet the challenges. Enjoy the excitement that comes with accomplishment. Pay the price. Allow yourself to dream. Give your dreams a chance to come true. And when you are firm in your convictions, don’t let others tell you it can't be done."

Ted Bauer Undergraduate Business Scholars

Through generous support from the C. T. Bauer Foundation, the C. T. Bauer College of Business awarded more than $9 million dollars in scholarship funding in the 2020-2021 academic year.
