Business Experience
Mr. Rogers began his business career with the Houston based insurance agency, John L. Wortham & Son in 1980. Prior to that time, he had served on active duty with the U.S. Army attaining the rank of Major. Wothham is a full service insurance agency capable of handling any form of insurance coverage required in business. The firm ranks in the top 20 agencies nationwide by business volume, processing over a billion dollars in premium annually.
At Wortham, his initial assignment was as a non-marine property specialist, concentrating on arranging insurance for chemical companies, refineries pipelines and other land based segments of the energy sector. Within a few years, he was elected full partner at Wortham and his duties enlarged to complete account management responsibilities. It is this extensive experience which Mr. Rogers uses to bring reality with a lively note of interest to the classroom.
Over the course of his thirty plus year career, Mr. Rogers has handled accounts involving major oil, gas and chemical operations, large scale automobile distribution, international electronics companies as well as a host of smaller businesses and associations. His ability to assist clients with the design of comprehensive risk management programs and then to palce and service the required insurance products uniquely qualify him to acquaint the student with an insider’s view of the world of corporate risk management.
