Yearly Overview of Scholarship Processes
January - Scholarship application period begins (Jan. 15); mail out Scholarship Renewal Packets to annual scholarship donors; check on scholarship recipient’s Fall GPA’s
February - Create new scholarship budget for upcoming awarding period
March - Deadline for scholarship applications (March 1st-Undgrad, March 15th-Grad); create and mail out donor Mid-Year Notifications; update scholarship budget with newly received funds; have first scholarship meeting to start awarding scholarships; create Scholarship Award Sheet
April - Continue to update database and award scholarships; update scholarship budget with newly received funds
May - Continue to update database and award scholarships; speak at summer orientation; update scholarship budget with newly received funds
June - Continue to update database and award scholarships; speak at summer orientation; update scholarship budget with newly received funds
July - SFA Award Memo deadline for Fall scholarships; finish awarding all scholarships; speak at summer orientation
August - Create and mail letters to students who did not receive scholarships
September - Check students’ accounts to make sure scholarships have been credited to their accounts
October
November
December - Set up new application system on-line; award any scholarship funds that are available for the Spring semester
NOTE: During slow periods we are usually working on big projects including: organizing the computer system and office for upcoming year, updating website, advertising and speaking at Bauer College functions, checking on students grades and hours to make sure they still meet their scholarship’s criteria, and filing resumes (we receive approximately 1,500 each year) and other scholarship paperwork.
