The original standing staff committees were formed in the summer of 2008, in response to a college wide staff survey. The results of that initial survey can be found here [ppt]. The purpose of creating committees was for staff to play a significant role in creating and implementing initiatives to enhance their workplace. Other situational or standing comittees may be added in the future.
Staff Comittees
	Morale and Staff Training (Standing) This committee was established to encourage and motivate our staff through gatherings and training. Recent events have included an Ice Cream Social, Holiday Sock Fashion Show, and Personal Finance Training. Current Chair: Melissa Luna Staff Rewards (Standing) This comittee was designed to maintain a system to recognize out-of-the-ordinary staff efforts and provide meaningful rewards for those efforts. Recently this group has implemented the TED Awards; these awards are available all year long, and nominations are based on a staff member going "above and beyond" their job requirements. Current Chair: Mary Gould Coffee Supply Consolidation (Situational) This group is researching the college's collective coffee purchasing habits and volume to determine the best vendor and possibility for a volume discount. Office Supply Consolidation (Situational) This group is researching the college's collective office supply purchasing habits and volume to determine the best vendor and possibility for a volume discount. Another possibility being explored is whether to create a central supply bank of office products. Promotional Item Consolidation (Situational) This group is researching the college's collective promotional item purchasing habits and volume to determine the best vendor and possibility for a volume discount.
