Greetings Accounting Alumni,
Welcome to the Fall issue of the C. T. Bauer College of Business Department of Accountancy & Taxation e-newsletter where we highlight major accomplishments of our students, faculty and staff.
Similar to the spring term, our undergraduate enrollment growth remains strong. We experienced a 21 percent increase in undergraduate accounting majors from Fall 2023 to Fall 2024. One of the contributing factors to this growth is our continued effort to change the preconceived notions of accounting by connecting our prospective students and current students with young alums. Our alums participate in high school and community college visits as well as several other recruitment initiatives. We also incorporate alums into our presentations for incoming freshman and transfer students before the start of the fall term, invite them to be guest speakers in our courses, and recently hired an alum as an adjunct to teach one of our Principles of Financial Accounting sections.
