Human-Centered AI Student Society of the University of Houston

AI is a rapidly growing technology with capabilities and applications that have yet to be explored, or even conceived. As with any other technology, the young have the most exposure and will eventually make the best use — both by necessity and acuity. We feature discussions of AI, its applications, and students’ concerns in a monthly lunch session with a faculty host and an invited industry expert through the proposed Human-Centered AI Student Society.

OUR MISSION

• Host discourse about AI, its applications, students’ concerns, and most importantly how the technology will augment human labor rather than replace it;
• Provide a forum for students to learn about AI applications from industry experts and make connections to said experts;
• Run outreach programs for other students and the local community to raise awareness of human-centered AI research and applications.
