Donald Bellman

Professor of Practice


Don Bellman is currently Clinical Assistant Professor at the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston, where he teaches classes in the global energy value chain, upstream oil and gas economics, and refining and petrochemical economics. He also works with Bauer's Global Energy Management Institute, most recently on a study for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory on preferred value chains for an advanced bio-fuel. He retired from ExxonMobil Chemical in 2003, after 32 years with the company, as Business Development Manager for the company's Global Polyethylene Business Unit, the company's largest chemical business. In this role he was involved in creating new joint ventures, acquisitions, and investments in olefin and polymer complexes in Asia, West Europe, Latin America, and the Arabian Gulf, as well as in the U. S. Previously, he was Business Analysis and Strategic Planning Manager for Exxon Chemical's worldwide polymers businesses and before that held management jobs in a wide variety of functions, from acquiring raw materials, to plant operations, to marketing and sales. He earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering at Duke University, and a master's degree in business administration at Stanford University.
