Bob King


Bob joined the C. T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston as the Senior Director of Advancement in September, 2016. In this role, Bob is be responsible for leading Bauer's Office of Development & External Relations, which handles all fundraising and donor activity for the college, including stewardship, major gifts and planned giving, naming opportunities and sponsorships, scholarships and development events.

Bob joined the University of Houston in 2014 as the director of gift planning in the Office of University Advancement, where he oversaw the university's gift planning function and assisted fundraisers on campus with both donor development and gift planning strategies, as well as related legal, tax and due diligence issues. In addition to his experience as a frontline fundraiser for both current and deferred gifts, Bob has extensive experience in the administration and management of split interest programs and institutional endowment funds.

Prior to his work at UH, Bob was the senior director for gift planning and special counsel for Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois, where he was responsible for the college's fundraising, risk management, employee benefits and legal counsel. Before entering the field of charitable gift planning, Bob worked in estate administration at The Northern Trust Company in Chicago and later served as senior vice president and senior trust officer for the Farmers and Mechanics Bank in Galesburg, where he managed all matters related to trusts, estates, investments and financial planning. Bob earned a BA from Illinois Wesleyan University and a JD from the Illinois Institute of Technology-Chicago Kent College of Law.
