Fall is our favorite time of year because it’s when we get to reconnect with our alumni at our annual Bauer Honors Fall Mixer. Typically, we’ve shared a few program highlights as part of our event announcements, but this year we created our first dedicated alumni newsletter.

At a recent event, one of our alumni asked us why we’ve stayed in our roles for so long. Our answer is simple — you. We’ve had the privilege of watching our students begin their academic journey, navigate challenges, celebrate their internships and become successful alumni. We are incredibly proud of all of you and the Bauer Honors community we’ve built together.
While we’ve continued to innovate the program, your commitment to our community has always been our greatest strength. As students, you embraced the Bauer Honors experience, taking part in every new opportunity we introduced. Your willingness to engage shaped the program into what it is today. Now, as alumni, you continue to give back by mentoring, hosting company visits, attending events and serving as a resource for our students. For that, we are truly grateful!

Spring 2026 Bauer Honors Highlights
Bauer Honors Learning Away: New York City
This spring, Bauer Honors continued its Learning Away initiative with an unforgettable trip to New York City. Building on the success of our inaugural Washington, D.C., experience, Sarah and Colleen led a group of sophomore students on a three-day experiential learning journey featuring company visits to Google, EY-Parthenon, and TIAA Nuveen — all made possible through the support of our incredible alumni working in NYC. We also loved reconnecting with the 15 Bauer Honors alumni who joined us for our NYC networking mixer. Thank you for showing us that no matter where your career takes you, Bauer Honors remains close to your heart!

Bauer Honors Students Compete Across the Country
Bauer Honors students are representing the program in prestigious business case competitions nationwide. Since launching this initiative in 2024, 24 students have competed in Lincoln, Nebraska; Tacoma, Washington; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Chapel Hill, North Carolina, gaining invaluable experience while representing Bauer Honors with excellence. We could not be prouder of all they have accomplished!

Faculty Feature Meet Professor Norman (“Norm”) Johnson Many of our alumni will remember Professor Norman (“Norm”) Johnson fondly as their STAT 3331 Honors professor. Last fall, he returned to Bauer Honors as Faculty Director. As a professor in the Department of Decision & Information Sciences, he is a passionate researcher whose current work focuses on the impact of AI in business. This fall, he is launching a new Bauer Honors course, Business Research at Work. |
