Onyi Nwafor


Onyi Nwafor is a doctoral candidate (with concentration in Operations Management) and research assistant in the Decision and Information Sciences Department in the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. She holds a Master's degree in Management Information Systems from Texas A&M University, and a bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Nigeria. Her research primarily concerns how organizations can achieve coordination effectively using technology, incentives, and organizational design. So far, she has focused this interest on healthcare organizations, where she has investigated operational issues related to care coordination across a variety of settings ranging from healthcare teams within hospitals to accountable care organizations. Prior to her doctoral studies, Onyi worked as an electronic engineer and business intelligence analyst in the banking, manufacturing, and energy sectors. Onyi is currently in the job market and is seeking a tenure-track position in Operations and Supply Chain Management. Onyi is a member of the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI), the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS), and Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS).
