International Financial Markets: Prices and Policies, 2nd Edition, by Richard M. Levich. Irwin McGraw-Hill, 2002.
International Financial Management, 2nd Edition, by Cheol S. Eun and Bruce G. Resnick. Irwin McGraw-Hill, 2000.
(One of them would be enough. You can buy these books through Internet vendors.)

Other Material: You should also download the LN cases, available through this homepage. You should bring a financial calculator to the second midterm (you should know how to use it).

  • PART 1.- Foreign Exchange Rates and Currency Risk Management

  • PART 2.- International Portfolio Investment
    LN XVII. Assignment: Case 3 (LN XVII).
    LN IX-X-XI. Assignment: Case 4 (LN X). Country Report.
    LN XII. Assignment: Case 5 (LN XII).

  • PART 3.- Interest Rate Derivatives in International Markets
    LN XIII. Assignment: Case 6 (LN XIII).
    LN XIV. Assignment: Case 7 (LN XIV).
    LN XV. Assignement: Case 8 (LN XV).

  • PART 4.- Gold Market (If time allows)

    Exams and Grading
    Final grades will be determined as a weighted average of scores on the midterms, a paper, a presentation and class participation, with the following weights:

    Midterms - October 1 and November 19 -tentative dates 50% (all exams are open book)
    Paper - October 29 15%
    Homework (cases) -due on case presentation dates 16%
    Case Presentation - TBA 15%
    Class Participation 4%
