Advising appointments can be held in person or via skype during scheduled office hours. Please visit our Advising page for information on how to schedule an appointment.

  • Is the MSACCY program a full time or part time program?

Bauer's MSACCY program provides students with the opportunity to study full time or part time. Most courses are offered one day a week from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and there are a few 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. course options.

Full time students can take more credit hours each semester and complete degree requirements in a shorter period of time.

  • Does the program have any academic prerequisites?

Yes, please visit the MSACCY Prerequisites page to view a complete list of prerequisites.

  • Are there summer classes?

Yes, the MSACCY required core courses are offered each semester and accounting electives are offered according to professor availability.

    The Application Process
  • Which of the admissions criteria are most important?

Admissions decisions are made based upon the application package as a whole. While strengths vary from one applicant to another, the MSACCY program seeks students who combine strong academic aptitude and quantitative analytical aptitude.

  • Why is it beneficial to apply early?

All applications are carefully considered and in some cases additional information is needed before a decision is reached. Thus, applying well before the deadline date will allow ample time in case further information is needed. Additionally, applying early allows incoming students time to secure housing, financial aid, and student visas (if applicable) well before the start of the semester.

  • I may not be able to complete all parts of the MSACCY application by the deadline. Will the committee allow an exception?

No exceptions are permitted. Incomplete applications are not reviewed by the committee. All parts of the application, including official test scores and all official transcripts, must be submitted by deadline.

    Transcripts & Letters of Recommendation
  • I am a current or former UH main campus student; do I need to submit transcripts?

If UH main campus has your most up-to-date official transcripts from all other institutions attended, the transcripts do not have to be resubmitted.

In addition, current or former UH main campus students do not have to submit UH main campus transcripts.

  • Will I be able to monitor the progress of my Letters of Recommendation (eLORs)?

Applicants may view the status of their eLORs by logging into the "Manage your Recommenders" section of the application portal.

  • What if I need to resend my request to the recommender?

Applicants may send eLOR reminders via the application portal. Only requests for pending eLORs can be resent.

  • Can the GMAT requirement be waived?

Some applicants may qualify for a GMAT waiver. For information on a GMAT waiver for UH main campus graduates, please CLICK HERE.

Additionally, GMAT can be waived for applicants who hold a terminal doctoral degree, including MD, JD, or PhD, from UH main campus or any other regionally-accredited domestic institution. For more information, please visit the UH Graduate Catalog.

  • What is the minimum acceptable GMAT score?
