Bio
Leslie hails originally from Baton Rouge, LA, where she received her B.S. in Marketing from Louisiana State University in 2000. Graduation from LSU brought Leslie to Houston, where she began work as a marketing assistant and event planner for a private investment firm in the Galleria area.
In June 2003, Leslie’s love of college students and academia brought her to UH as the Bauer College’s Marketing and Entrepreneurship advisor. From 2005 to 2008, Leslie served as the program manager of the Bauer Business Honors Program, a specialty program designed to serve students who are business majors and also members of The Honors College at UH.
In 2008, Leslie accepted the newly created position of Assistant Director for Outreach in the Office of Undergraduate Business Programs. Her responsibilities include program management, academic advising and customer service for prospective and new students, media and event planning, recruitment, and community outreach.
In addition to her duties at Bauer, Leslie has been involved in many national and campus-wide activities and groups, including the UH Strategic Management Institute, AMA (American Marketing Association), NACADA (National Academic Advising Association), Houston Psychological Association (student member), Educational Psychology Graduate Student Organization, and the UH University Women’s Chorus. She also holds a Master’s in Counseling - Educational Psychology from the UH College of Education and is a two-time winner of the Bauer College Staff Excellence Award for Employee Merit.
Finally, Leslie enjoys being involved in the Houston community. Her experiences have included volunteering as an advisory board member and staff for College Bound (a non-profit group providing college preparatory assistance to inner city youth), as well as smaller volunteer roles for Hearts and Hammers of Fort Bend County, Star of Hope, Special Olympics of Texas, and Young Life. She also works as a contract counselor for the Houston Area Women’s Center and serves in various roles at her church - Grace Bible Church in The Heights.
