James (Randy) Webb
Executive Professor - Executive Director, Stephen Stagner Sales Excellence Institute
Mr. Webb has over 28 years of business experience in sales, marketing and senior management. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University and an MBA with honors from the University of Houston. He began his career in sales at the Dial Corporation where at age 29 was the youngest corporate officer in the history of the company. After fifteen years with Dial, the last five as Vice-President of Field Sales, he accepted a position as Vice-President of Sales at M&M/Mars, a division of Mars, Inc. While at M&M/Mars, he was instrumental in developing one of the most successful sales organizations in the consumer goods industry.
In 1991 he was appointed President of Uncle Ben's, Inc., the food division of Mars, Inc. After 13 years with Mars, Mr. Webb retired. Since retiring his focus has been on teaching at the University of Houston main campus. Mr. Webb is an Executive Professor and Executive Director of The Steven Stagner Sales Excellence Institute in the C.T. Bauer College of Business. He teaches Sales Management and Key Account Selling in the Sales Program and Corporate Politics in the Executive MBA Program.
Mr. Webb is an award winning professor receiving the University of Houston Excellence in Teaching group award, twice the winner of the Bauer College of Business Excellence in Teaching Award, The Program for Excellence in Selling teaching award, and a five time winner of the EMBA teaching award, which is voted on by students.
Mr. Webb also does executive coaching, consulting, corporate speaking, and executive education. His areas of expertise include Sales, Sales Management, Key Account Selling, Marketing, and Leadership.
