My (Bad) Experience with Delta Skwymiles Program
Free travel. What a wonderful thought. Airlines give it away as a reward
to the frequent flyiers. Have you ever tried to book a frequent flier award
flight from Houston, TX to Eugene, OR, a month in advance? Houston-Eugene.
It doesn't sound like a very busy segment. I tried several times, it was
impossible. I also tried two months in advance, three months in advance. I
tried different times of the year, January, February, March. You catch my
drift.
I am talking about Houston-Eugene-Houston, not New York-London-New York in the
middle of the Summer or Xmas Season.
I have had problems booking frequent flier awards when booking one month in
advance, but this is just outrageous. It shows a very weak commitment on the part of
Delta Airlines to its Skymiles Award frequent flier program. At least they
should be clear on the contract and clearly specify the number of seats they
have available on each plane. Delta Airlines should make clear how difficult it is
to book certain trips.
Be careful, Delta Airlines frequent flier program sucks, as my son would say.
