Battling to be Top Among Traders
Every year, the AIM Center at UH Bauer College is turned into an old-fashioned trading pit during the annual Open Outcry Trading Competition, organized by the college’s Finance Association student group. UH Bauer students battle rivals from the region to see who is best at using the open outcry method to trade oil, and in recent years, they’ve come out on top, claiming many of the top 10 spots. The event sponsored by CME Group, the largest group of commodity and options exchanges, celebrates traditional, face-to-face trading. It combines education and adrenalin, and shows how fast competitors can think on their feet.
