- WHY ADVERTISERS NEED A TD WITH SUPER BOWL ADS
Steven Koch, an executive professor of marketing at UH Bauer College with more than 20 years of industry experience in marketing, sales and senior management, says advertisers are hoping big investments in pricy commercial airtime during the Feb. 8 Super Bowl broadcast will pay off — Chrysler, Doritos, etrade, Pop Secret and homeaway.com all have plenty at stake.

- SUPER BOWL VS. WINTER OLYMPICS: WHICH IS A BETTER BUY FOR ADVERTISERS?
The broadcast ads airing during the Super Bowl and the Winter Olympic Games may be as memorable as the competition. At least, with price tags between $300,000 and $3 million one would hope so. While both sporting events command large audiences, clinical assistant professor of marketing Jacqueline Kacen says one may be a better buy.

- NEW, UPDATED COURSES AT UH BAUER TIE BUSINESS TO TECHNOLOGY
UH Bauer recently launched a new course in an emerging business technology job market and updated another to include the latest technological innovations. Live video conferencing will connect faculty and students at UH Bauer with their counterparts at the University of North Carolina in the second year of a groundbreaking graduate course on carbon trading. A new course for undergraduates trains students on energy trading and risk management (ETRM) systems, the software programs that track the trading and movement of commodities.
