Information for Guests
Seating and Protocol
Tickets and Seating
To ensure there is adequate seating, all guests, including children 2 years and older, must have a ticket for entry. There is assigned seating. See the ticket section for more information.
Provisions for Guests with Disabilities
Parking and shuttle service for those with a disabled person plate or placard will be available. If you are an individual with a disability or you are inviting a guest who needs special assistance and have questions about Commencement, please call the Graduate and Professional Programs Office at (713) 743-0700.
Audience Courtesy
Bauer College of Business is very proud of the accomplishments of each and every student, so we want the ceremony to be a pleasant experience for everyone. This time-honored ritual includes traditional academic regalia and requires proper decorum. We ask the audience to respect the rights and feelings of other participants and guests by remaining in their seats until all of the graduates have been recognized and the ceremony has concluded. In consideration of the speakers, pagers and cell phones should be turned off or to silent mode during the ceremony. Families should not allow children to run up and down the aisles of the performance hall once the ceremony starts, and crying babies should be taken out to the front lobby area where they will not disturb the graduates and their guests. Babysitting will not be provided.
Directions and Parking
The Bauer College of Business Graduate Commencement Ceremony will take place in the Cullen Performance Hall at 7:00 p.m. Cullen Performance Hall will be directly in front of you at the very end of University Drive.
Parking
Commencement parking is complimentary in lot 20A and the Welcome Center parking garage. Handicapped parking in all lots will be strictly enforced.

I-45 South
Exit Spur 5
At light turn right onto University Blvd. (Student Parking Lot 20A is on the right.) Proceed across Calhoun and make a left at Visitor Information Booth. (The Welcome Center Garage is on the left.)
I-45 North
Exit Elgin / Cullen
Turn left onto Elgin
At light turn left onto HWY 90 (Spur 5).
At light turn right onto University Blvd. (Student Parking Lot 20A is on the right.)
Proceed across Calhoun and make a left at Visitor Information Booth. (The Welcome Center Garage is on the left.)

Exit HWY 59 to I-45 South (Galveston)
Exit I-45 to Spur 5

For Your Safety
Although the University of Houston does not anticipate any security problems during Commencement, we will be taking special measures to ensure the safety of everyone who attends the Commencement ceremony.
The following items are prohibited on campus:
- Alcohol
- Illegal drugs/paraphernalia
- Weapons of any kind including firearms and knives
- Animals except for registered guide dogs
The following items will not be allowed at the venue:
- Strollers
- Balloons
- Air horns
Security will be screening for these items at the venue. Smoking is not permitted inside the Cullen Performance Hall. These policies are subject to change without notice.
