All applicants (domestic and international) are required to send their completed application packet to the following address:

2. Transcripts

Two (2) official, sealed transcripts from all higher education institutions attended

Transcripts will also be required from the university where you completed calculus. Students without calculus must complete this prerequisite or a credit exam covering this material prior to beginning any Master's level coursework.

International Transcripts – We need one original transcript in the original language and the other must be an official English translation of the transcript. Once submitted, Office of International Admissions will evaluate them.

3. Test Scores
   • GMAT* Test

   We accept GMAT scores if they have been taken within the last five years. If they were taken more than five years ago, the applicant must take the test again. Scores should be sent to University of Houston, MS in Finance Program code XT1-26-15. Information regarding the Graduate Management Admission Test can be obtained from their web site: www.mba.com or by calling 1-800-717-4628 (GMAT) 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. The GMAT is a computer-adapted test which is offered on an appointment basis.

   • GRE Test

   We will accept GRE scores only if it has already been taken within the last 5 years for another graduate program. If they were taken more than five years ago, the applicant must take the GMAT to be considered for admission. Scores should be sent to University of Houston, MS in Finance Program code 6870. For more information regarding the GRE, call 1-443-751-4820 or 1-800-GRE-CALL (1-800-473-2255) Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 7:45 p.m. Eastern Standard Time or visit http://www.ets.org/gre/general/register/cbt. Expect a three or four week period time between taking the test and UH receiving the score.

   • International applicants must submit a test of English language proficiency unless they have earned a high school diploma or bachelor’s degree or a higher from a college or university in the US. One of the following tests may be submitted to meet this requirement. Please note that scores over 2 years will not be accepted.
     • Official TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score above 603 on the paper-based test or 100 on the internet-based test. The University code for TOEFL scores is 6870. For more information, please visit www.toefl.org
     • Official IELTS (International English Language Testing System) score above 6.5. For more information, please visit www.ielts.org
4. A Non-refundable Bauer College Application Fee
   1. A $75 Bauer College of Business application fee is required of all applicants.

   The fee can be submitted while completing the Apply Texas Application online or by using the following link https://www.bauer.uh.edu/gpp_payment/payment.aspx or by mailing in a personal U.S. check or money order directly. Make the check or money order payable to the University of Houston. The name and student I. D. number of the applicant must be on the check or money order. NO CASH will be accepted! Only applicants whose fees have been paid will be reviewed.

   2. Non-Refundable $75 Application fee for International Students:

   International students must pay a $75 processing fee to International Admissions, in addition to the Bauer College application fee of $75, for a total fee of $150, which can be submitted on-line or by a personal U.S. check or money order. If submitting a personal U.S. check or money order, make payable to the University of Houston. The name and student I. D. number of the applicant must be on the check or money order. NO CASH will be accepted! Only applicants whose fees have been paid will be reviewed.

5. Resume, Goals statements, Letters of Recommendation

   The following documents must be submitted as part of the application package to the following address:

   1. Professional Resume or curriculum vitae. It is recommended (not required) that students have at least two years of full-time relevant professional work experience before applying to the master's program.(Click here to submit documents online)
   2. Goal Statement Letter which specifies what the applicant expects to accomplish by completing this program and how it is related to his or her long term professional objectives is required.(Click here to submit documents online)
   3. Two letters of recommendation from academics, employers or professionals are required for your application.

   • Once you fill in the required information at the link above (if you do not know your PSID you can leave that blank), your recommender will receive an email from us with the recommendation form.

6. In Addition, International Applicants Need To Submit:
   1. I-20 Transfer Form (Only if applicant has an I-20 from another institution)
   2. International Address Form
   3. Letter of Financial Backing
   4. Two (2) Passport photos
   5. Copy of Passport
