Continuing and Professional Studies Units

Continuing and Professional Studies Units (CEUs) are offered for full participation in most courses. The CEU is defined as “10 contact hours of participation in an organized Continuing and Professional Studies experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified instruction.” To receive CEUs for courses participants must attend at least 80 percent of the class sessions and successfully complete the program. (Successful completion is determined by individual program requirements. Some programs may set greater minimum attendance standards.) Continuing and Professional Studies units are recognized nationally as a measure of substantive in-service education and training. CEUs will be issued through the University of Houston Department of Continuing Education and Professional Studies.

Accreditation and Endorsements

The University of Houston is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) as a Level IV, General postsecondary institution.

Academic Honesty Policy

All program participants are expected to observe accepted principles of academic honesty. Should a violation of the University Academic Honesty Policy be reported, the case will be handled using the same guidelines and policies that apply to students enrolled in academic programs.
