Since January 1, 2002, Samuel A. DiPiazza, Jr., has been CEO of PricewaterhouseCoopers, the world’s largest professional services organization. He most recently served as Senior Partner and Chairman of the U.S. firm with executive responsibility for U.S. operations, and as a member of the Global Leadership Team. Mr. DiPiazza has enjoyed a long career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, which he joined in 1973. In 1998 Mr. DiPiazza was named the Americas Leader for Tax and Legal Services and in 2000 he was elected Chairman and Senior Partner of the US firm. Mr. DiPiazza has also served on the Firm’s International Tax Board, the Global Tax and Legal Services Executive and the recently established PwC Consulting Global Board.
Mr. DiPiazza is currently serving a three-year term as a Financial Accounting Foundation Trustee and is also a member of the Frankfurt-based Mergers & Acquisitions Group (CEO Academy). He serves on the International Advisory Board of Junior Achievement, the Executive Council of the Inner City Scholarship Fund, the Board of Directors of the New York City Ballet and the Executive Committee of the National Corporate Theatre Fund. In 2001 Mr. DiPiazza was elected President of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of New York City.
Mr. DiPiazza received a dual degree in Accounting/Economics from the University of Alabama and an MS in Tax Accounting from the University of Houston. He has been honored as Accountant of the Year by the Beta Alpha Psi Society and is a recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor and the INROADS Leadership Award. |
