Min Kyu Joo


Min-Kyu Joo is a second-year doctoral student studying organizational behavior and human resource management at the C. T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. His research interests include leadership, abusive supervision, counterproductive work behaviors / workplace victimization, perceived organizational support, and high performance work systems. Specifically, his research agenda focuses on the leadership development, gender issues in leadership, and how destructive leadership affects individual / organizational performance. Min-Kyu is also interested in the strategic effects of high performance work systems in various business contexts. He has published in academic and practitioner publications such as Asia Pacific Business Review, Quarterly Journal of Labor Policy, Policy Studies on Labor Relations and Human Resource Management, and Worldatwork Journal among others. He has also published several books and book chapters. Prior to his doctoral studies, Min-Kyu worked as a research associate for the Korea Labor Institute and as a senior researcher at Kim & Chang LLP (K&C) in South Korea. Min-Kyu earned his bachelor's degree in business administration and political science and diplomacy from the Yonsei University (South Korea) and master's degree in Human Resource and Industrial Relations from the University of Minnesota.
