Bio

In his current role as Director of Pre-Business Advising and Special Programs, Brent leads academic advising and retention initiatives to support the educational endeavors of undergraduate Pre-Business students. He also oversees programs and partnerships that encourage student participation in learning abroad experiences and regularly engages in international travel himself, most recently to China. Since joining the Bauer College in November of 2000, Brent has served as an undergraduate academic advisor, led efforts to expand programming and support for Bauer College student organizations, and he is the founding program manager for the Bauer Business Honors Program. He has served on various university committees and currently represents the Bauer College on the Undergraduate Advising Committee. Brent holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Texas Tech University and a Masters of Education in Higher Education from the University of Houston.

Brent is also active in the community. He is currently a board member for the HAY Center, a public/private partnership providing employment, education, housing, mental health, and life skills programs to empower current and former foster youth to be successful, productive adults. He has also served in various roles on the governing board of the Delta Iota Chapter of Phi Beta Delta International Honors Society at the University of Houston since 2008, including as chapter president.
