Bio

Art earned his Ph.d in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University in 1978. His entry into the energy markets was as Manager of New Products at the Chicago Board of Trade during the Iranian Revolution. Post CBOT Art traded petroleum futures as a member of NYMEX for ten years and served on NYMEX's Board of Governors for five years. While on the Board Art chaired the Globalization Committee and was Vice-Chairman of the Natural Gas Committee during the development of the Henry Hub Contract. In 2001 Art joined the Finance Department faculty at Texas A&M as an Executive Professor. At A&M he created the Reliant Trading Center's curriculum for undergraduate and graduate students in Energy Trading and Analysis. In 2006, Art joined the Global Energy Management Institute in the Finance Department at the University of Houston where he continues to teach Energy Trading and Energy Analysis. For 5 years starting in September 2009, Art consulted with CIMA ENERGY LTD, acting as their Chief Economist; first developing a barter contract trading natural gas for ethanol and from late 2010 developed and managed CIMA's crude-by-rail throughput capacity in Galveston. Art also serves as an economist at Agrimar Inc.

Art's specialty is commodity market analysis with a business development view and providing risk management solutions. His trading, development and risk assessment experiences include agricultural markets, crude oil and petroleum products, biofuels, natural gas, power and high frequency trading.
