Bauer Undergraduate Program UH ID & email policy
The Bauer College will use your UH e-mail alias as the primary means to contact you and keep you informed about college news. All Bauer College students are required to be contactable using a UH email address for department updates, prerequisites, advisor communication and all other types of college correspondence.
This policy does not apply to students taking not-for-credit certificate and continuing education programs. In addition, you will be able to use this alias after you graduate.
What is your UH ID number?
All students of the University of Houston have been assigned a new PeopleSoft ID. Beginning for the Fall 2007 semester students are required to use his or her PeopleSoft ID number on all emails, online forms, and all other student information.
To obtain your PeopleSoft ID, please call 713-743-1010 during business hours.
What is your UH email alias?
As a student at the University of Houston, you have been assigned a UH e-mail alias that points to the e-mail address you provided to the university when you applied for admissions (it is blank if you did not). E-mail messages addressed to your alias are automatically forwarded to your preferred e-mail account. For example, if you provided joecougar@aol.com to UH, any e-mail sent to your new alias will automatically be sent to joecougar@aol.com. UH will use your alias to send you important university information such as emergency closings or information from your faculty and department.
Managing your UH Alias & Account
To update your email account info, follow these steps:
- Go to and log into PeopleSoft
- Once logged in, select UH Self-Service
- Select Campus Personal Information
- Follow the instructions to update your phone number and email address. You must have at least an updated Destination address at which you can recieve official UH email
- Your UH e-mail alias will now be set up to point to this address
If you don't have an e-mail account, you should obtain one from the University by requesting one online from the UH Information Technology.
