2007 news!
- Vivian Abdo, Graduating Senior, recently received the Arete Award for outstanding service to The Honors College. Congrats Vivian!
- Rachel Harrell, Graduating Senior, has recently accepted the position of Credit Analyst at Amegy Bank of Texas in its Officer Development Program. Good Luck Rachel!
- Saeeda Jamaluddin, Senior, recently earned a first place finish at the NYMEX Open Outcry Trading Competition at UH. She beat over 50 other student competitors from schools from around Texas and from as far away as Connecticut. For her 1st place finish, Saeeda has been awarded a 6-week internship with the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) in NYC this summer!
- Jennifer Martin, Graduating Senior, has recently been accepted to St. Mary's in San Antonio to attend Law School. Good Luck Jennifer!
- Congratulations to S.U.R.F students funded for summer 2007!: Jana McCloskey (mentor Dr. Tom Noland - ACCT) and Melissa Brazle (mentor Dr. Jill Sundie - MARK).
- Dahena Lara, Sophomore, was elected as secretary of the Hispanic Business Students Association. She has also accepted a summer 2007 internship with PriceWaterhouse Coopers in their Infrastructure division.
- Elias Yousefi, Senior, has been elected as Wing Commander of the UH Air Force ROTC. He has also selected by the United States Air Force to participate in a summer 2007 Cultural Immersion Program in Turkey.
- Jyoti Sugavanam, Senior, was awarded the Outstanding First-Year Student Award by The Honors College.
- Gunan Aslanova, Graduating Senior, has recently accepted a position as an internal auditor for the BRS (Business Risk Services) division of Ernst & Young.
- Jessica Fung, Junior, was recently selected to participate in the National Deloitte Accounting case study competition.
- Austin Burger, Graduating Senior, has recently accepted a position as an energy trader with British Petroleum.
- Charles Russell Thompson II, Graduating Senior, has recently accepted a position as an analyst for Citigroup.
- Cory Angert, Graduating Senior, has completed his Senior Honors Thesis, "The History of ExxonMobil to 1900" and has recently been accepted in the Ph.D. program in the department of Management.
- Zimuzo Agim, Class of 2006, recently moved to New York to work for Credit Suisse Investment Bank in the Global Energy Group.
- Lindsay Roberts, Junior, was recently elected as the Vice President of Finance of Delta Gamma Sorority.
