PPA Undergraduate Degree Plan

All undergraduate PPA students must fulfill the general BBA degree requirements, plus follow the course of study listed below.

PPA Course Requirements

  • PPA students select graduate level courses for the 6 hours of electives listed above. See the Double Counting Courses policy listed below.
  • PPA students may use the ACCT 4341 Internship Course toward an Advanced Business Elective found in the general BBA Degree Requirements provided they have met the requirements of the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy (TSBPA) and the requirements for the PPA program.   • PPA students MUST file for graduation during the final semester of their BBA in Accounting.
  • PPA students MUST apply for admission to MSACCY during their last undergraduate semester. The student must be admitted to MSACCY upon conferral of the BBA in Accounting.

Double Counting Courses for Undergraduate PPA students

Undergraduate PPA students may take up to two graduate courses (6 hours) as electives to complete their B.B.A in Accounting degree.
To qualify for these courses, PPA students must submit a statement of goals, resume, two (2) letters of recommendation, and GMAT scores.
Note: The Apply Texas application for MSACCY is submitted only during student’s last undergraduate semester. It is not to be submitted for double count registration.

Graduate Course Selection

A PPA undergraduate student may choose to take a maximum of two graduate accounting courses. Course selection must be discussed with their PPA advisor.

PPA tracks

Students in the PPA are permitted to select tracks of courses that provide a specialized concentration in a particular area of the accounting profession during their time as a graduate student. Currently there are tracks in Audit, Internal Audit, Taxation, and Risk Management
