MBA Curriculum

January 2012

Suggestion:
Hi,

I am a 2nd year MBA student in my last semester. I am currently taking Energy Value Chain course. This course is currently being offered in the 2nd year. However, what I have realized is, this course could prove extremely useful for students who want to work in Oil and Gas industry if they are allowed to take it in the 1st year. It can help an individual find a job — especially someone with an engineering background, with little to no experience in the industry. It can help students understand the industry and even identify the segment of business they are interested in.

In my opinion, interested students should be allowed to take the course in their 1st year.

Hope this helps.

Dean Ramchand’s Response:
Thank you for the email and suggestion. Currently we have an MBA Curriculum Task Force that is looking at the MBA curriculum with a view to make changes if needed. I will forward this to the chair of this task force.

Sincerely and with warm regards,
Latha Ramchand

Northwest campus, online offerings

June 2011

Suggestion:
Good afternoon,

I think that Bauer is fantastic, and has accomplished a lot since my days as a student. My main suggestion for improvement would be to increase Bauer's online offerings, as well as consider expanding more to the Northwest Campus and the UH System at Sugar Land and Cinco Ranch.

Thank you for your time.

Dean Ramchand’s Response:
Thank you for your suggestions, and yes, we are expanding our programs so we have a presence on the NW campus.

Sincerely and with warm regards,
Latha Ramchand

1927 Society

January 2012

Suggestion:
Yes,

I have a suggestion. If the Business College is interested in increasing its endowment it should comply with the program that was established under the 1927 Club. Otherwise if the 1927 club is no longer in existence or the university is no longer using it as a way to increase the endowment it should terminate its promotion.

A reply that someone has actually read this email would also be appreciated.

Dean Ramchand’s Response:
Thank you for your suggestion and I want to let you know that the 1927 Society is active and alive. Currently there are 330 members of the 1927 Society with future expectancies to the University of approximately $30 million.  Many of those are Bauer College graduates who are making significant gifts to support the future of our great University. If you are in Houston, please let me know so we can meet.

Sincerely and with warm regards,
Latha Ramchand
